BIR, Supreme Court align digital notarization and tax systems

Internal Revenue Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza and Supreme Court Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa led discussions on August 11 aimed at synchronizing the two government systems, according to officials familiar with the matter.
The collaboration seeks to streamline processes for taxpayers and notary services by linking the Bureau of Internal Revenue's Electronic Documentary Stamp Tax system with the Supreme Court's eNotarization infrastructure. The move comes as both agencies advance their digital transformation initiatives.
Officials from the BIR and Supreme Court attended the meeting to explore technical and operational compatibility between the platforms. The alignment is expected to reduce processing delays and improve accessibility for Filipinos requiring notarization services and documentary stamp tax compliance.
The initiative reflects broader government efforts to modernize public services through technology. Further coordination between the agencies is anticipated as the project develops.
