BJP leader P.K. Krishnadas has alleged that the current United Democratic Front government in Kerala is providing protection to former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in multiple corruption cases, including matters related to CMRL and Exalogic payments as well as hawala transactions.
Krishnadas claimed that a recent Supreme Court judgment has exposed what he described as an alleged understanding between the Congress-led UDF and the CPI(M) regarding the handling of corruption cases. The BJP leader's remarks suggest coordination between the two major political fronts in shielding senior party leaders from legal action.
The allegations point to the CMRL-Exalogic case, which has been a matter of political controversy in Kerala for some time, along with separate hawala-related investigations involving the former Chief Minister. The fresh political controversy underscores the ongoing tensions between Kerala's ruling coalition and the opposition BJP over governance and accountability issues.
The claims made by the BJP leader remain contested, with the Congress and CPI(M) yet to respond to the specific allegations regarding alleged coordination in corruption cases.
