The BJP escalated accusations against Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Monday, alleging his involvement in circulating an audio clip and suggesting he is executing a coordinated political strategy at the behest of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
BJP chief spokesperson Navnath Ban demanded that authorities register a formal case against Raut if evidence warrants such action. Ban also called for a comprehensive investigation into whether the Sena (UBT) MP received financial support or directives from Gandhi in connection with the audio clip matter.
The allegations represent an escalation in the political tensions between the BJP and the opposition coalition in Maharashtra. The claims suggest coordination between regional and national opposition figures, a charge frequently leveled by the ruling party against its political adversaries.
The Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, has emerged as a key opposition force in Maharashtra following the split within the Shiv Sena. The party has maintained close ties with the Congress-led opposition bloc at both state and national levels.
