A first information report has been filed against a BJP booth agent for allegedly attempting to remove 30 Muslim voters from the electoral roll by submitting Form 7, an administrative document used for deletion of voters. The charges emerged following complaints about the discriminatory targeting of voters based on religious identity. Election officials conducting field verification on October 1 confirmed that all 30 voters in question were residing at the addresses listed in the electoral roll, establishing that the deletion request lacked any valid grounds. The verification process, standard practice in such cases, systematically validated the residential status and voter registration details of the affected individuals. The incident has renewed scrutiny on electoral integrity mechanisms and the oversight of booth-level party functionaries involved in voter registration processes. Election authorities have indicated that further investigation will examine whether the attempt constituted a deliberate effort to suppress voter participation among a specific religious community.
