BJP celebrates Congress rout in MLC elections as Shah takes aim
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has targeted the Congress party following its poor performance in recent MLC elections, posting a barbed social media message on the opposition's electoral showing.

Home Minister Amit Shah took to Instagram to mock the Congress party's performance in MLC elections, posting a pointed comment that read: "Won how many of 28 seats... 0" and "Ballot Box, resign."
The jab came after the results of the indirect elections, in which the Congress failed to secure representation. Shah's post reflects the ruling BJP's emphasis on the opposition party's electoral struggles.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously commented on Congress's performance in the ballot paper-based MLC elections, questioning the party's electoral prospects. The MLC elections, conducted through voting by elected representatives rather than direct popular vote, have become an arena where the BJP has consolidated its dominance.
The Congress, which once dominated Indian politics, has faced successive electoral defeats across state and national elections in recent years. The MLC results add to the party's mounting challenges as it struggles to mount effective opposition to the ruling BJP's legislative agenda.
