Amit Shah on Tuesday challenged the opposition to bring concerns about the Election Commission of India and electronic voting machines to Parliament for full debate, offering to convene a special session if needed. The Home Minister stated the BJP has no reservations about such scrutiny and is prepared to defend its electoral performance transparently.
Shah criticized the opposition's approach of questioning the credibility of electoral institutions following recent poll defeats. He cited BJP victories across multiple states including Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar, Delhi, Puducherry, Assam, and West Bengal as evidence of the party's electoral strength.
The BJP leader suggested opposition parties were resorting to questioning election administration only after facing electoral losses. Shah contended that the opposition was misdirecting blame toward electoral officials and vote-counting procedures rather than accepting the verdict of voters across different state elections.
