BJP demands water release for Ganesh immersion festival

The BJP organised a demonstration at Chintakunta to press authorities for the release of water from local reservoirs in time for the upcoming Ganesh idol immersion ritual. Party leaders argued that adequate water supply is essential for devotees and civic authorities to conduct the festival celebrations and immersion ceremonies smoothly.

The protest highlighted concerns about water availability in the region during the festival period. BJP representatives called on government officials to prioritise water release to ensure that the customary immersion processions and associated festivities can proceed without disruption.

Ganesh Chaturthi, celebrated across Maharashtra and other parts of India, involves the installation of clay idols in homes and public spaces followed by immersion in water bodies after a designated period. The festival typically requires substantial quantities of water for various ceremonial purposes and public health requirements.
