Speaking at a gathering at Rajarathinam Stadium in Chennai, the senior opposition leader voiced concerns over governance practices of the ruling dispensation.
Kanimozhi's remarks came during a protest where she joined demands for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to step down. The demonstration also sought revocation of certain electoral guidelines, reflecting growing opposition concerns over electoral management and constitutional propriety.
The DMK leader's intervention adds to mounting criticism from opposition parties regarding the functioning of constitutional institutions under the current administration. Her comments reflect broader concerns within the INDIA bloc about institutional autonomy and adherence to constitutional frameworks.
The protest at the Chennai venue saw participation from party workers and supporters who echoed similar concerns about democratic governance. The event underscores the intensifying political discourse in Tamil Nadu regarding central government policies and their impact on federalism and constitutional rights.
