BJP, JD(U) accuse Congress of destabilising institutions through denial

Leaders from the BJP and JD(U) launched a coordinated criticism of the Congress party on Wednesday, asserting that the principal Opposition is in denial over repeated poll setbacks and attempting to create political instability to engineer a return to power.

Rajiv Ranjan Singh of the JD(U) and Piyush Goyal of the BJP held a joint press conference where they alleged that Congress is actively undermining constitutional institutions as part of a broader strategy to destabilise the government.

The charges reflect heightened tensions between the ruling coalition partners and the Opposition as political temperatures rise ahead of upcoming electoral contests. The BJP and JD(U) have intensified their messaging around governance and institutional integrity in recent weeks.

Congress has faced consecutive electoral reverses in recent years, losing its foothold in several states while the BJP has consolidated control in most regions. The party's national relevance has diminished significantly, though it continues to lead anti-government efforts in Parliament.

The joint statement by the two coalition partners underscores their coordinated approach in facing Opposition challenges, even as occasional tensions persist between the BJP and its ally JD(U) on matters of regional governance and policy implementation.
