BJP leader Rawneet Bittu detained after alleged egg-tomato attack on Punjab CM

BJP leader Rawneet Bittu was taken into police custody in Ludhiana on Monday during a major political gathering organized by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party. The former Union minister of state for railways arrived at the PAU Gate with tomatoes in hand as the Chief Minister's motorcade prepared to pass through the area.

According to police accounts, security personnel prevented Bittu from advancing toward the convoy after spotting him with the produce. However, as Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's vehicles proceeded through the location, Bittu allegedly attempted to hurl tomatoes at the motorcade, prompting his immediate detention.

The incident reflects escalating tensions between the BJP and the AAP in Punjab, where the two parties have emerged as key political rivals in recent state elections. Bittu's arrest comes amid heightened political activity in the state, with both parties conducting public rallies and demonstrations.
