BJP names prabharis to oversee Kerala party operations

The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced prabharis to oversee its organisational functioning in Kerala, according to party sources. The move comes as part of efforts to strengthen the party's presence in the southern state ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.

Four state general secretaries have been entrusted with special responsibilities under the new structure. These appointments are designed to ensure coordinated party work and streamline administrative functions across different regions of Kerala.

The prabhari system, commonly used by the BJP, designates senior party leaders to supervise operations in specific areas or states. This organisational method helps the party maintain centralised control while delegating responsibilities to experienced functionaries.

The appointments are expected to enhance the party's grassroots mobilisation efforts in Kerala, where it has been working to expand its political footprint. The restructuring reflects the party's strategic focus on strengthening its organisational infrastructure in states where it has traditionally faced formidable competition from established political forces.
