Two senior BJP functionaries clashed during a party reception in Kanpur on Thursday, with the altercation stemming from a dispute over seating arrangements on the event stage. The confrontation between former district minister Shivpujan Savita and district co-media coordinator Dr. Vinay Singh Rathore quickly turned physical, leaving visible injuries on both men. According to accounts of the incident, one official suffered bleeding from the ear while the other's clothing was torn during the scuffle. Party officials intervened to separate the two men and removed them from the venue as tensions escalated. In response to the incident, the BJP has constituted a five-member committee to investigate the circumstances leading to the clash and assess responsibility. The party has not released a formal statement regarding potential disciplinary action against either official.
