BJP rebuffs Congress vote fraud allegations as baseless

BJP national vice-president Ram Madhav on Wednesday dismissed accusations of vote manipulation made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, characterizing the allegations as baseless and without merit. Gandhi had previously alleged instances of what he termed 'vote chori' (vote theft) during electoral processes, a charge the ruling party firmly rejected.

Madhav's rebuttal also extended to Congress's broader criticism of the Election Commission of India (ECI), which he defended against what he described as unsubstantiated attacks by the opposition party. The BJP leader emphasized the independence and integrity of the electoral body in conducting fair and transparent elections across the country.

Addressing party workers, Madhav called upon BJP cadres to focus their energies on securing victory in the forthcoming local body elections. He urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts and strengthen organizational networks to maximize electoral performance in the upcoming polls.

The exchange underscores the continued friction between India's ruling party and the principal opposition Congress party over electoral processes and institutional oversight, with both sides maintaining divergent assessments of election management and integrity mechanisms.
