BJP's Labels Unite Opposition, Students, Says AISA Chief

AISA President Neha Bora said Thursday that inflammatory rhetoric from the Bharatiya Janata Party, including terms such as 'saffron Nazis' and 'anti-national elements,' has had an unintended consequence: strengthening unity among opposition parties, student groups, and citizens. Speaking to reporters, Bora argued that rather than isolating critics, the labelling strategy has consolidated dissent across various sections of society. The student leader said the polarising language has become a rallying point for those challenging government policies.

Bora issued a stark warning that ongoing protests would not be suspended until the Election Commission removes Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar from his post. She further demanded a halt to what she termed the 'SIT process'—an apparent reference to a Special Investigation Team probe.

The statement reflects escalating tensions between student organisations and the government over administrative accountability. AISA has positioned itself as a vocal critic of what it characterises as institutional bias, using the BJP's characterisation of opposition voices as evidence of authoritarian governance.

The group's demands underscore broader concerns within opposition circles regarding electoral impartiality and institutional independence. Bora's remarks signal the student movement's intention to maintain pressure through sustained public action until their grievances are addressed by authorities.
