BJP's Poonia to replicate Haryana success formula in Punjab campaign

Satish Poonia, the BJP's senior strategist, is preparing to adapt the organisational blueprint that yielded results in Haryana for the party's Punjab campaign. The approach centres on utilising the cross-border coordination that characterised the Haryana elections, where bordering districts played a pivotal role in the party's electoral planning.

A key element of the strategy involves deploying party workers from Rajasthan who have pre-existing personal contacts in Punjab. By leveraging these established relationships, the BJP aims to strengthen ground-level mobilisation and grassroots engagement in areas where the party seeks to expand its presence.

The cross-state coordination model developed during the Haryana campaign proved effective in resource allocation and volunteer deployment. Party workers stationed in Rajasthan's border districts were strategically moved to target areas where they possessed existing connections, enabling more efficient and credible outreach.

The transferability of this model to Punjab reflects the BJP's broader approach to regional campaigns, which increasingly emphasises inter-state cooperation and the mobilisation of party cadre across state boundaries.
