BJP's Sankanur wins third consecutive term in West Graduates' Constituency

Sankanur polled 33,711 first-preference votes to retain the seat, according to official election results. His victory underscores the BJP's continued hold over the graduate-constituency segment, a traditionally significant electoral bracket in regional politics.

The BJP candidate's commanding lead over opposition was evident in the vote tally. Mohan Limbikai, the nearest challenger, secured 24,388 votes, trailing Sankanur by over 9,300 votes. Independent candidate Kantakumar R. finished in third position with 4,055 votes.

Sankanur's third consecutive victory in the West Graduates' Constituency reflects strong voter confidence in his representation. Graduate constituencies, which form a distinct voter base with specific electoral privileges in some Indian states, have historically served as key indicators of political performance and public sentiment on governance issues.

The victory strengthens the BJP's position in the region and marks Sankanur's continued legislative tenure representing the graduate constituency's interests.
