BJP student wing sweeps Delhi University elections; Naddha takes swipe at Congress

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has dominated elections for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU), winning three of the four principal positions contested, including the coveted president's seat. The results have been hailed by senior BJP leadership as a significant victory for nationalist forces in India's higher education institutions.

BJP National President JP Naddha welcomed the outcome, highlighting its broader significance given Delhi University's pan-Indian student base. "The results from Delhi University reflect the mood of youth across the country," Naddha said, positioning the ABVP's performance as an indicator of wider sentiment among Indian students.

In his remarks following the election results, Naddha also took a pointed dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, dismissing a recent student outreach initiative. Naddha characterized Gandhi's "Students' Echo" (Chhatro Ki Gooj) programme, held in Indore, as an "echo of lies," suggesting Congress efforts to mobilize student support lack authentic appeal.

The DUSU election outcome marks a notable performance for the ABVP in the capital's premier university and underscores the continued influence of RSS-affiliated student organizations in campus politics across India.
