BJP Targets Samajwadi Party on 34th Anniversary with Corruption Charges

The BJP launched a pointed attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) on the occasion of the regional political outfit's 34th foundation anniversary, releasing a comprehensive four-page document listing what it characterised as the party's failures over more than three decades.

The dossier, framed as a "34-year account" of the SP's tenure, catalogued 34 distinct allegations against the party. These included accusations related to communal riots, corruption scandals, dynastic politics, irregularities in recruitment processes, and governance gaps affecting Dalit communities. The BJP presented the document as a systematic indictment of the party's performance in Uttar Pradesh.

The attack comes as political parties in the state continue to intensify their campaigns ahead of key electoral contests. The SP, once a dominant force in Uttar Pradesh politics, has faced sustained criticism from the ruling BJP over governance issues during its previous periods in power.

The allegations raised by the BJP span multiple governance domains, reflecting broader political contestation in the state. The party's decision to quantify its charges according to the anniversary milestone underscores the competitive political landscape in the region's most populous state.
