BJP using coercive tactics to intimidate marginalised groups: Akhilesh

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has levelled accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming it is resorting to coercive tactics to intimidate marginalised communities. The statement reflects growing political tensions in the region as different parties articulate contrasting visions for governance and social policy.

Addressing party workers and supporters, Yadav articulated the Samajwadi Party's alternative political programme, centred on what he described as creating a 'brotherly nation' built on principles of social equity and inclusive development. He positioned his party as a champion of vulnerable populations and those traditionally excluded from economic and political power structures.

The party president emphasised the Samajwadi Party's commitment to establishing the 'reign of social justice' across the state and region. This message appears designed to mobilise support among scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, and religious minorities, constituencies that have traditionally formed the party's political base.

Yadav's remarks come amid intense electoral competition in India's heartland states, where competing parties continue to contest for support from marginalised communities through varying ideological frameworks and policy commitments.
