BKU leader calls for intensified protests against Noida land acquisition

Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Kisan Union, has called on Noida farmers to intensify their protest campaign against ongoing land acquisition by authorities, citing what he described as administrative obstacles to their grievances.
Tikait alleged that the local administration has been preventing farmers from organizing protests and securing meetings with government officials to present their demands. According to the BKU leader, these restrictions have hampered farmers' ability to negotiate for better terms regarding their acquired land.
The protesting farmers have articulated two primary demands: the allocation of developed residential plots as compensation for their acquired agricultural land, and an enhancement to the monetary compensation offered by development authorities. The issue has centered on land acquisition for various development projects in the Noida region.
The BKU's stance reflects broader tensions between farming communities and urban development agendas in the National Capital Region, where land acquisition for infrastructure and real estate projects has frequently sparked farmer resistance.
