BMTC to deploy 150 extra buses for interstate routes from October 1

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation has announced plans to introduce 150 additional outstation buses effective October 1, bolstering capacity on routes connecting the city to various destinations across Karnataka. According to an order issued by BMTC on Wednesday, the enhanced service aims to address rising demand for interstate travel from Bengaluru.

The supplementary buses will operate from two nodal points: Kempegowda Bus Station and Mysuru Road Bus Station. These facilities serve as primary hubs for long-distance services, handling significant passenger volumes on routes radiating from the city to towns and districts across the state.

The move represents a collaborative effort to strengthen the transport network amid growing travel demands. BMTC's decision to augment services comes as the state continues to witness increasing passenger traffic on intercity routes, particularly during festival seasons and weekends.

The deployment of additional buses is expected to provide commuters with greater frequency and reduced waiting times on popular Karnataka routes. Officials indicated the expanded fleet would help manage passenger load more effectively during peak periods while improving overall service reliability on these critical transport corridors.
