BMW India to impose fourth price hike this year amid rupee weakness
German luxury automaker BMW Group India plans another round of price increases next month as currency depreciation and rising commodity costs continue to erode margins. The move marks the fourth price adjustment in 2026 for the company's BMW and MINI vehicle portfolios.

BMW Group India will raise vehicle prices for the fourth time this calendar year, citing persistent pressure from rupee depreciation and elevated commodity expenses, according to the company's President and Chief Executive Officer Hardeep Singh Brar.
The automaker has already implemented three rounds of price revisions totalling 4-5 per cent across its BMW and MINI portfolios in 2026. Brar indicated that an additional price increase is imminent, likely within the coming month, as headwinds from foreign exchange volatility and commodity inflation show no signs of abating.
"We have already done three increases this year and there's another one around the corner," Brar said, noting that the rupee has deteriorated approximately 18 per cent against major currencies since January of last year. The sustained forex pressure has significantly impacted the company's cost structure and profitability in the Indian market.
The German luxury carmaker joins several other automotive manufacturers grappling with margin compression as import-dependent costs rise alongside a weaker rupee. Industry observers expect continued pricing pressure across the premium and luxury segments as companies seek to pass increased input costs to consumers.
