A boat operator was taken into custody on Saturday in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro on suspicion of employing unlicensed fishermen, the Occidental Mindoro Maritime Police Station said.
The arrest was conducted through a joint operation by maritime authorities in the area. Police did not disclose the suspect's identity pending further investigation.
Officers recovered a fishing vessel, fishing gear, and seafood catch from the operation, with combined value estimated at approximately P940,000. The seizure underscores ongoing enforcement efforts against maritime violations in the region.
