MANILA — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is targeting a mid-2027 rollout of its Customs Processing System (CPS), a comprehensive digital platform designed to streamline and fully automate import and export transactions, according to BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno.
Nepomuceno disclosed the timeline on Wednesday, indicating that the system deployment is scheduled for June or July next year. The CPS represents a significant shift toward eliminating manual customs processing, which has long been a source of delays and inefficiencies in Philippine trade operations.
The digital initiative is one of 15 modernization projects currently in development at the BOC. These broader efforts underscore the agency's commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and reducing processing times for traders and businesses reliant on import-export activities.
The CPS rollout is expected to benefit the business community by reducing documentation requirements, minimizing processing delays, and improving transparency in customs clearance procedures. Industry stakeholders have long advocated for such digitalization measures to increase competitiveness and streamline trade flows.
