BOC to lodge complaint against PNP-HPG over alleged personnel confrontation
The Bureau of Customs said it will file an administrative complaint with the National Police Commission against Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group officers in connection with an alleged confrontation involving BOC personnel.

MANILA — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) plans to escalate a dispute with the Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP–HPG) by filing an administrative complaint before the National Police Commission (Napolcom), according to BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno.
Nepomuceno said the Customs agency will pursue the formal complaint over what he characterized as an alleged accosting of BOC personnel by PNP–HPG officers. The commissioner made the announcement during an interview in Quezon City, indicating the BOC's determination to hold the police unit accountable for the incident.
"If our personnel were at fault, we will find out through that process," Nepomuceno said, suggesting the administrative complaint will serve as a mechanism to establish facts surrounding the disputed encounter.
The move signals potential friction between two major government enforcement agencies tasked with operations in different jurisdictions. The filing of charges at Napolcom represents the BOC's formal challenge to the conduct of the PNP–HPG officers allegedly involved in the confrontation.
