Body of man who jumped from San Juanico Bridge recovered
Police in Leyte have recovered the body of a 28-year-old man reported to have jumped from the San Juanico Bridge on Sunday. The discovery was made Monday morning in a river in the province's Babatngon municipality.

The deceased, known by the alias "Poypoy," was identified as a scrap buyer residing in Barangay San Pedro, Santa Margarita. His body was found in a river in Barangay Guintigian, Babatngon, approximately 24 hours after the reported jump from the iconic bridge linking Leyte and Samar.
Local police confirmed the recovery on Monday, September 14, marking the conclusion of a brief search operation following Sunday's incident. Authorities did not disclose additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the man's death or the investigation into the incident.
The San Juanico Bridge, one of the Philippines' longest bridge structures, has been the site of several reported incidents over the years. The recovery of the man's body adds to the bridge's documented history of tragic occurrences.
Police said further investigation into the matter was ongoing.
