Body of missing Bulacan man recovered from river
Authorities in Calumpit, Bulacan discovered the body of a local resident on Tuesday after he went missing for two days following an incident at a river near his home.

CALUMPIT, Bulacan — The body of Rey Lequin, a resident of Sto. Niño village, was recovered on Tuesday, Sept. 8, ending a two-day search operation.
Lequin, 50, had reportedly jumped into the river adjacent to his residence at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6. The circumstances surrounding his decision to enter the waterway remained unclear as of the time of recovery.
Local authorities launched search efforts immediately following the incident. Rescue teams combed the river and surrounding areas throughout Monday and into Tuesday morning before locating the body.
The discovery brings closure to his family and the community, though questions remain regarding the events that led to the river incident. Authorities have not released further details regarding the case at this time.
