Body of missing Filipino man recovered from Zambales river

A 20-year-old resident of Zambales was found dead along a shoreline after being swept away by strong currents while crossing a river. Philippine Coast Guard authorities confirmed the discovery on Thursday.

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The body of Jasper Rosales, 20, was recovered from a riverbank in Barangay San Miguel after he went missing while attempting to cross a waterway to gather vegetables, the Philippine Coast Guard said Thursday.

Rosales, a resident of Sitio Dinuron in Barangay Burgos, was swept away by a strong current while crossing the river. The incident prompted search operations that ultimately led to the discovery of his remains along the shoreline.

The Philippine Coast Guard in Zambales confirmed the recovery and is continuing to gather details surrounding the incident. Local authorities have yet to release additional information regarding the circumstances of his death.
