Authorities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region uncovered the body of a missing moneylending collector on Friday afternoon, marking a grim end to a search operation in Lanao del Sur. The remains were discovered buried in a shallow grave within a pineapple plantation in the municipality of Wao.

The victim was identified by police as Marvin Muñez Daumar, according to Capt. Steffi Salanguit, spokesperson for the Police Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. The discovery was made following reports of Daumar's disappearance.

The case underscores ongoing security concerns in the Bangsamoro region, where moneylenders and debt collectors have previously been targeted. Authorities have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding Daumar's death, though details regarding the cause of death and suspected perpetrators remain unclear at this stage.
