TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Mayor Al Cadorniga Taculad of Duero resigned from office on September 16, following an Ombudsman order for his dismissal on charges of grave misconduct. The dismissal stemmed from his undisclosed financial interest in municipal projects that were awarded to his own construction firm, creating a conflict of interest in his official capacity.
Vice Mayor Hernes Bajao assumed the mayoral position following Taculad's departure from office. The transition came after the Office of the Ombudsman completed its investigation and issued the dismissal order against the former mayor.
