TAGBILARAN CITY — The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) took delivery of 50 motorcycles Thursday, marking a significant boost to the force's operational mobility and emergency response capabilities across the province.
The motorcycle fleet was turned over during a ceremony in Tagbilaran City, coinciding with the commemoration of the 13th anniversary of the devastating 2013 magnitude 7.2 earthquake that struck Bohol. Officials view the equipment acquisition as part of broader efforts to strengthen the province's emergency response infrastructure.
The motorcycles will support operations under the government's Unified 911 Emergency Response System, a nationwide initiative designed to streamline emergency services coordination. Police officials indicated the two-wheeled vehicles would enable faster deployment in congested urban areas and more remote rural locations where larger emergency vehicles face mobility constraints.
The acquisition represents part of the police department's modernization efforts to enhance public safety services throughout Bohol. With the expanded fleet, authorities expect to reduce response times to emergency calls and improve overall service delivery to residents across the province.
