Bollywood India's Greatest Cultural Export: Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday characterized Bollywood as India's most significant cultural export, while recounting an incident involving a powerful nation's deputy prime minister. According to Goyal, the foreign leader has been persistently urging him to facilitate his daughter's entry into the Hindi film industry. The minister did not identify the country or leader in question. Goyal's comments underscore the global appeal and soft power influence wielded by India's film sector, which continues to attract international interest beyond domestic audiences. Congress Member of Parliament Pawan Kheda responded critically to Goyal's remarks, though specific details of his objections were not immediately clear. The exchange reflects ongoing political discourse surrounding India's cultural industries and their international standing.
