Bombay HC Extends Stay on Actor Imran Khan's Exit Notice
The Bombay High Court has extended its stay on a 'Leave India Notice' issued to actor Imran Khan in connection with his participation in a Students' Islamic Movement protest. The court has sought an unconditional apology from the actor over his involvement in the demonstration.

During proceedings before the High Court, counsel representing Khan offered to file an undertaking committing that the actor would refrain from participating in any future protests or attempting to influence others to do so, directly or indirectly. The submission was made in an effort to persuade the court to maintain the stay on the notice that had been issued against him.
The 'Leave India Notice' had been served on Khan following his participation in a protest organised by the Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIR). The actor's legal team argued that the notice represented an excessive administrative action and sought judicial intervention to prevent his forced departure from the country.
The High Court's decision to extend the stay provides temporary relief to Khan while the matter remains under consideration. The court has indicated that an unconditional apology regarding his protest participation would be a necessary step towards resolving the dispute. The case highlights ongoing tensions between civil liberties and state restrictions on political and social demonstrations in India.
Khan's undertaking to abstain from future protest activities marks a significant concession from the actor's side in his legal battle against the notice. The matter is likely to come up for further hearing as the court examines the propriety of the administrative action and the actor's role in the protest.
