Border vigilance critical as Bangladesh nationals await BSF gaps: Adhikari
West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has warned security forces of coordinated cross-border infiltration attempts, citing observations of Bangladeshi nationals positioned to exploit lapses in Border Security Force surveillance along the frontier.

Suvendu Adhikari, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader in West Bengal, has alerted border security personnel to heightened infiltration risks along the India-Bangladesh border, claiming that nationals from the neighbouring country are strategically positioned to breach the frontier.
During a recent border inspection, Adhikari stated that despite the apparent emptiness of the Bangladesh side when viewed through binoculars, individuals are deliberately concealing themselves to await opportunities when BSF personnel are temporarily absent from their posts.
The BJP leader's remarks underscore persistent concerns about unauthorized cross-border movements in the region. The India-Bangladesh border, spanning over 4,000 kilometres with West Bengal accounting for a significant stretch, remains subject to regular infiltration attempts and trafficking operations.
Adhikari's observations highlight the operational challenges faced by border security forces in maintaining continuous surveillance across the extensive frontier. The comments come amid ongoing discussions between Indian and Bangladeshi authorities regarding border security coordination and cross-border criminal activities.
Security agencies continue implementing enhanced monitoring protocols and coordination measures to counter infiltration attempts and maintain border integrity.
