Bosch targets double-digit AC market share in India within two years

Bosch Home Comfort Group, the heating and cooling solutions division of Bosch GmbH, plans to launch Bosch-branded air conditioners in India next year as part of an ambitious market penetration strategy. Managing Director Sanjay Sudhakaran said the company is targeting double-digit market share over the next two years, with aspirations to establish itself among India's top five AC brands in the medium term.

The German firm is pursuing a dual-brand approach to capture diverse consumer segments. Hitachi air conditioners will be positioned in the mainstream and mass-premium categories, while Bosch-branded units will target the performance-premium and super-premium markets. This segmented strategy allows the company to address different customer demographics across India's growing air-conditioning market.

Bosch Home Comfort Group's India expansion was bolstered by its acquisition of the global residential and light-commercial air-conditioning business of Johnson Controls and Hitachi in August 2025. The strategic acquisition has provided the company with established manufacturing capabilities and distribution networks to support its market expansion.

Reflecting its long-term commitment to the Indian market, Bosch Home Comfort Group is investing significantly in its operations, with plans to deploy approximately 80 million euros in capital investments. This substantial financial commitment underscores the company's confidence in India's rapidly growing air-conditioning market and its potential for sustained demand over the coming years.
