The 37-year-old Bottas said he was taken aback by speculation linking Herta to a potential move to the American-based team, which has been ramping up its F1 operations ahead of the 2026 season. Bottas, who joined Cadillac's driver roster as part of the team's ambitious entry into Formula One, indicated that he remains focused on delivering results for the outfit.
Herta, an American IndyCar driver, has been a subject of interest for various F1 teams as the sport continues to expand its presence in the United States. However, Bottas's statement suggests the veteran driver does not anticipate losing his seat at Cadillac for the 2027 campaign.
Cadillac has been assembling its F1 programme with significant resources, recruiting experienced personnel and establishing infrastructure for competitive racing at the highest level. The team's driver lineup will be crucial to its success as it prepares to compete alongside established F1 outfits.
Bottas brings extensive F1 experience to Cadillac, having competed as a regular driver on the circuit for over a decade. His commitment to the team comes as the sport's landscape continues to evolve with new entrants and shifting driver market dynamics.
