Brazil Coach Ancelotti Pledges Respect for Indian Football Squad

Brazil's celebrated Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti made clear on Friday that despite football's secondary status to cricket in India, his team approaches the Indian squad with full respect and professionalism.

Ancelotti's statement comes as Brazil prepares to face India in what marks a significant fixture in the footballing calendar for the South Asian nation. The five-time Champions League winner recognized the distinctive sporting landscape in India, where cricket dominates the national consciousness.

"We know football has a different position in India compared to other countries," Ancelotti said, underscoring his awareness of the local context. However, he made clear this understanding does not diminish Brazil's regard for their opponents.

The Brazilian coach's remarks reflect the mutual respect expected between international football squads, irrespective of their rankings or domestic football profiles. Brazil, one of football's traditional powerhouses, has a track record of treating all opponents seriously, regardless of their global standing.

Ancelotti's emphasis on respect signals Brazil's intent to approach the match with the professionalism and focus expected of a top international side, while acknowledging India's unique position within the global football landscape.
