Bride Refuses Groom at Altar After Photo Mismatch in Punjab

A wedding in Titu Kheda village of Guruharsahai in Punjab's Firozpur district ended in cancellation after the bride refused to marry the groom moments before the ceremony. The bride alleged that she had been deceived during the matchmaking process, stating that the photograph she was shown prior to the engagement depicted a different person than the man standing before her in the mandap.

The groom's wedding party, which had travelled from Chhatgarh in Rajasthan, was compelled to return without solemnizing the marriage. The incident created considerable upheaval in both families as the bride publicly objected to the union immediately after the groom took his place in the ceremonial canopy.

Following the bride's refusal, the matter escalated to local police with a formal complaint being lodged. However, rather than pursuing legal action, both families decided to resolve the dispute amicably and settled the matter out of court. The circumstances surrounding the photograph discrepancy and the identity of the individual depicted in the original image remain unclear.
