Brighton produced a clinical display to overcome Kauno Zalgiris in their opening Conference League fixture, with goals from Georginio Rutter, Jack Hinshelwood and Matt O'Riley securing a comprehensive win at the Amex Stadium.
The emphatic victory demonstrated Brighton's quality as they began their European campaign, with the midfield and defence working in cohesion to limit the Lithuanian champions' attacking opportunities throughout the match.
Rutter, Hinshelwood and O'Riley each found the back of the net during a performance that highlighted the club's ambitions in the newly established third-tier European competition. The fourth goal came from one of the same trio, reinforcing Brighton's attacking prowess.
The result positions Brighton favourably in their group stage campaign, providing an ideal foundation as they continue their European journey. The side will look to maintain this winning momentum in their upcoming fixtures while juggling domestic Premier League commitments.
