Britannia Industries Ltd on Thursday announced a consolidated net profit of ₹725.99 crore for the second quarter of fiscal 2026-27, representing a year-on-year growth of 10.82 per cent. The performance marks a solid improvement from the ₹655.06 crore net profit recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, signalling healthy recovery in consumer demand across its product categories.
The bakery food manufacturer's revenue from product sales surged 16.6 per cent to ₹5,541.57 crore during the July-September quarter, with volume growth of 13 per cent emerging as the primary growth driver. This strong volume performance reflects improved market penetration and consumer traction for Britannia's diverse portfolio of biscuits, breads, and confectionery products.
Total revenue from operations climbed 15.64 per cent to ₹5,597.79 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹4,840.63 crore in the year-ago period. Meanwhile, total income, incorporating other income sources, increased 15.9 per cent to ₹5,671.30 crore during the quarter. The company's total operating expenses rose 17 per cent to ₹4,690.47 crore, reflecting higher input and distribution costs amid inflationary pressures.
The results demonstrate Britannia's ability to navigate competitive market conditions through volume-led growth while maintaining profitability, positioning the company favourably for the remainder of the fiscal year.
