The British Examination Centre (BEC), operating under CEG Education Holdings, was formally inaugurated at Cinnamon Lakeside in Colombo, marking a significant expansion of educational assessment services in Sri Lanka. The centre's establishment represents a milestone in providing Sri Lankan students and educators with access to globally recognized qualifications and professional development opportunities.
As a Cambridge Associate, the centre will administer examinations and provide assessment services aligned with international standards. The facility is positioned to serve students seeking internationally accredited qualifications while supporting teacher development initiatives across the country.
The launch reflects growing demand for international educational certifications in Sri Lanka's education sector. By establishing a dedicated examination centre, the service aims to streamline access to these qualifications for candidates throughout the region, reducing barriers to pursuing globally recognized credentials.
The centre's operations are expected to complement existing educational infrastructure in Sri Lanka while providing institutional support for examination administration and quality assurance across multiple assessment programmes.
