BRS targets Congress over crop failure in Telangana's Palamuru region

The Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government over extensive paddy crop failures affecting large agricultural tracts in the Palamuru region. BRS leaders, including T. Harish Rao, visited drought-affected fields in Veltur and Alwala villages in Wanaparthy district to evaluate the crisis impacting local farmers.

The opposition party has attributed the widespread crop devastation to administrative failures and inadequate irrigation management by the state government. According to BRS representatives, the dried paddy fields across multiple villages underscore what they characterize as negligent governance affecting the agrarian community during a critical growing season.

The visits represent an intensification of political pressure on the ruling Congress administration as agricultural distress becomes an increasingly contentious electoral issue in the state. BRS officials used the ground assessment to highlight their grievances regarding water allocation and farm support mechanisms in the region.

Palamuru, a historically significant agricultural zone in Telangana, has faced periodic irrigation challenges. The current crop losses have drawn focus from opposition parties seeking to capitalize on farmer discontent ahead of state political developments.
