BSE net profit soars 45% to ₹809 crore in Q2FY27

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) posted a net profit of ₹809.15 crore for the second quarter of FY27, marking a 44.9 per cent surge from the same period last year. The strong performance was underpinned by revenue growth of 34.1 per cent, reflecting increased trading activity and business expansion across the exchange's key segments.

The quarterly results demonstrate BSE's resilience in India's capital markets landscape, with improved operational efficiency and higher transaction volumes contributing to the bottom-line expansion. The exchange's diversified revenue streams, spanning equities, derivatives, and market data services, supported the consistent financial performance.

In a separate development, the BSE board has accepted an offer from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for a plot of land in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), a prime commercial district in Mumbai. This acquisition signals the exchange's intent to expand its physical footprint in one of Asia's premier financial centres.

The strategic land acquisition is expected to support BSE's future growth initiatives and operational infrastructure requirements as the exchange continues to strengthen its position in India's financial ecosystem. Details regarding the timeline and development plans for the BKC property are likely to emerge in subsequent announcements.
