MANILA — The Bureau of Corrections indicated Monday it requires additional documentation to confirm the validity of a Court of Appeals order mandating the immediate release of Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo, according to officials familiar with the matter.
Lee and Cornejo are currently incarcerated following their convictions in connection with the serious illegal detention of television personality Vhong Navarro. The Court of Appeals has issued an order directing their discharge, but BuCor stated it must first verify the authenticity of the court directive before proceeding with the release.
