Buddhist institutions deepen Vietnam-Laos ties through spiritual cooperation

Vietnam's Buddhist organizations are playing an increasingly significant role in fostering closer ties with neighboring Laos, with religious institutions serving as a bridge for cultural and community engagement. A ceremony held recently in Vientiane reviewed Buddhist affairs for the 2022-2027 period and announced fresh leadership for the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha's Coordination and Cooperation Board in Laos, which will serve through 2031.

The gathering highlighted the substantial contributions Vietnamese Buddhism has made to religious life in Laos and its broader impact on strengthening bilateral relations. Buddhist temples and organizations have become platforms for dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding between the two nations, complementing official diplomatic channels.
