The government has unveiled plans to channel RM7.5 billion towards procurement contracts for Bumiputera contractors under the 2027 budget allocation, marking a substantial commitment to advancing indigenous business development. This funding represents a key plank of the administration's strategy to ensure greater participation by Bumiputera enterprises in government purchasing and infrastructure projects. The enhanced procurement allocation underscores the government's focus on creating sustainable economic opportunities for indigenous Malaysian business owners across various sectors. In parallel, RM2 billion has been earmarked for investment through Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLIC) to provide capital and growth support to Bumiputera-backed ventures. The dual approach—combining procurement opportunities with direct investment—aims to strengthen the commercial ecosystem for Bumiputera businesses while driving inclusive economic growth. These measures are expected to enhance business capabilities, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to broader wealth creation within Bumiputera communities across the country.
