VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon — Valencia National High School (VNHS) is moving to enhance campus safety measures following the death of an 18-year-old Grade 12 female student this week, school and local authorities said Friday.
The student died Wednesday evening in an incident involving the school building, according to Principal Angelina Cacharo and Valencia City police investigators. Details of the circumstances remain under investigation by local law enforcement.
Cacharo said the school is now evaluating structural and safety upgrades to the campus facilities to prevent similar incidents in the future. The planned improvements are expected to address potential vulnerabilities identified following the student's death.
