SEPANG — A flood mitigation project in the Bukit Changgang area is on track to be completed next week, marking significant progress ahead of its scheduled January 2027 completion date, the Irrigation and Drainage Department announced on Friday.
The project, one of two flood bank strengthening initiatives at Kampung Rancangan Tanah Belia (RTB) Bukit Changgang, demonstrates the department's commitment to expedited delivery of critical infrastructure in the region. The accelerated timeline provides a buffer for quality assurance and contingency measures.
The second reinforcement site remains under development as part of the broader flood management strategy for the area. Authorities have prioritised the Bukit Changgang initiative to mitigate flood risks affecting the residential community.
Completion of the first phase is expected to provide immediate relief to residents through improved flood defence infrastructure. Officials have indicated that work on the remaining site will proceed according to revised scheduling parameters.
