The Bulacan provincial board issued the declaration on Thursday, responding to widespread inundation that has affected multiple municipalities across the province. The flooding stems from extended monsoon rainfall that has persisted for weeks, overwhelming local drainage and water management systems.

Coastal towns bore the brunt of the deluge, with Calumpit, Hagonoy, and Bulakan experiencing the most severe impacts. Floodwaters in these municipalities reached approximately 1.82 meters, submerging homes, infrastructure, and agricultural lands and displacing residents from affected areas.

The state of calamity declaration enables provincial and local authorities to access emergency funds and mobilize resources for relief and rehabilitation efforts. The measure facilitates faster deployment of assistance to affected residents and streamlines procurement of relief supplies and services.

The monsoon season continues to pose challenges for flood-prone areas across Bulacan, prompting authorities to maintain heightened alert levels and coordinate disaster response operations across municipal jurisdictions.
