Bumrah, Jadeja eye crucial red-ball practice in India A clash

Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna and Ravindra Jadeja will feature in the third and final four-day game between India A and an injury-hit New Zealand A side, beginning Saturday, providing crucial preparation ahead of the bilateral Test series scheduled to commence on November 19 in Wellington.

Bumrah has been strategically rested from India's ongoing five-match ODI series against New Zealand as part of workload management protocols. The pace leader's last competitive appearance came during the Asian Games final on October 3, making the A-series fixture an important opportunity to regain match fitness before the Test leg.

Prasidh, who has recovered from a recent hamstring injury, has similarly been preserved exclusively for the Test challenge. The India A match offers both players vital preparation time on unfamiliar pitches and in the challenging climatic conditions of New Zealand.

India's extensive preparatory campaign has seen most of its Test squad members feature in the A-series encounters, allowing them to acclimate to the windy and cold conditions prevalent in the region. The four-day fixture represents the final building block before the main Test series gets underway later this month.
